The Classic Male: Essentials to the look
Autumn/Winter
Grey wool, wide leg Trousers – Can be dressed up or down, ideal to wear if you want to segue from work to the Christmas party
- Black wide leg Trousers – Classic, goes with everything
- Crisp white Shirt – Smart shirt always looks good around party season, refined yet practical
- Black , cashmere v-neck Sweater – Because of the changeable weather, layering is top priority. Wear with a shirt and tie under a jacket instead of waistcoat
- Black/ash grey cashmere Scarf
- Black Boots – Worn with fitted or wide leg trousers, can alter silhouette dramatically
- Black , tailored Suit Jacket – Essential for work functions where you want to appear smart yet casual. Dress down with a shirt and no tie
- Black silk Tie – To be worn when needed i.e.; work, parties, drinks with family etc
- Long Overcoat( black or grey) – Invest in a good quality coat (cashmere blend) that will last
- Leather Satchel – Pointless ruining your new coat with an old bag. Use with most outfits to keep wallet and keys in (saves spoiling line of jacket or trousers)
Spring/Summer
Navy blue , heavy linen Trousers – Wear for casual dress days at work and on the go, ideal summer drinks attire
- White Shoes (plimsol-esque) – Wear causally with jeans, not for work
- White Polo-shirt (no logos, plain) – for warmer weather at work, also when a collar is required yet a shirt is too formal
- Blue fitted Blazer – dress up or down as required. For a retro twist, roll up sleeves and wear with dark jeans and t-shirt.
- Dark blue , straight leg Jeans – Classic looking jeans, nice fit, team with t-shirt/polo shirt for clean, modern look
- Trench Coat – Wear in spring when required. Stay away from tan colours and instead go for a blue or grey shade
- Plain, low, v-neck T-shirts ( blue, white, black, grey, bright green) – to wear under blazer
- Pin-stripe Shirt ( white) – For when a shirt is required. Team with linen trousers for a less structured look
- Flip-flops with covered toes –Men should avoid showing their feet in the UK
- Dark Sunglasses (classic, non-reflective lens) – Nothing too modern as they will date. Choose a colour that will go with everything (like silver legs with a dark lens)
